Facts about the farm
It has a long history – it had a reputation as an experimental farm way back in the late 18th century, when it was run by the Earl of Hardwicke.
- The whole estate is 2,750 acres
- Mix of arable land, pasture, woodland, lakes and gardens
- Currently produces meat, eggs, wheat and oil seed rape
- Mainly clay and chalk soil
MyFarm and the National Trust
The National Trust aims to help people reconnect with farming and learn more about how food is produced.
The Wimpole Estate, one of three working farms owned by the Trust, already has over 250,000 visitors a year and its history of innovation makes it the perfect context for the MyFarm project.
